Our Story
BUBORN is a luxury apparel company conceived of, designed and developed in Malibu California. The literal meaning of BUBORN is “reborn in Malibu,” and relates to Founder, Michael Bolduc’s, search for God during his journey in recovery.
This search led him to Malibu (the "BU"), where the natural beauty of Malibu’s beaches, mountains, surf life, sunrises and sunsets opened Michael’s eyes to God’s creation. Although nature provided its own sense of a spiritual life and God’s wonder, Michael sought a clearer understanding of God. While Michael had been unwilling to acknowledge The Lord as God in previous months and years, the day arrived in July 2019 where his search for God became complete and he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. His life changed instantly on that day and his quest was over. He now knew Jesus Christ is God. He would later reflect and realize that his seeking was actually the work of God drawing him near. Michael’s life in God and his journey in recovery is strong. And, BUBORN is a celebration of his rebirth in God and the precious gift of life.

BUBORN is the premier apparel company that celebrates life and The Lord. The Lord is great, so BUBORN’s designs, materials and its execution of designs spare no consideration on quality or creativity. All of our products are UNISEX with colors and sizing designed to appeal to everyone. Our aim is that our clothing appeals to all persons, whether you are believers, non-believers, seekers, searchers, surfers, beach goers, hikers, bikers, artists, metropolitans and EVERYONE who celebrates life.
All BUBORN hoodies and tee shirts are made from 100% raw organic cottons. Our hoodies are contemporary and fashionable, consisting of a dense 17 ounce weight, with tees at 8 ounces. Our 15 ounce sweatpants are amazing, consisting of a blend of 80% raw organic cotton and 20% polyester to add softness and extra comfort.
Hoodies and sweatpants are fleece lined providing a "buttery" softness to the skin. BUBORN colors and washes have an incomparable aesthetic, and our apparel provide a modern fit that’s loose, comfortable and drapes well for a feeling of leisure and comfort. We are confident that the most discerning street wearer and fashionistas will adore our clothing.
All BUBORN hoodies, sweatpants and tees are inimitable. Each apparel piece is hand designed through individual dying, printing, painting or graphic design processes so that no garment is identical to another. Our graphics use high quality natural pigments to provide a natural feel and long-lasting wearability. Any color, brush stroke, fading or graphic variations are natural, adding to the charm and character of all BUBORN apparel. What are the crimson markings on the hood? They are brush strokes symbolizing the doorposts and lintel (Exodus 12:7) of The Lord's Passover protection for His people. Every hoodie receives prayer and blessing, intended for all BUBORN wearers.
Mission
BUBORN’s hoodies celebrate life. As it is written, “The words I speak to you are spirit and they are life” (John 6:63). BUBORN’s mission is: (1) to spread the Word of God throughout the world via our clothing (“You shall be witnesses to Me … to the ends of the earth") (Acts 1:8). Each BUBORN wearer is a witness, playing a vital role in spreading the Word in a way that’s creative and expressive; (2) to participate in the Lord’s plan in transforming lives; (3) to create aesthetic, fashionable, high quality clothing that people love to wear; and (4) through tithing, support missions, causes and organizations that promote ideals and goals that are true to God.
